Entering this school year with the gentle and loving reminder that although venting can help you feel better temporarily, it doesn't create a better situation. Be cautious of who you vent to, they may have it far worse off than you do, (although really who could have it worse? ;)) Instead of banding together to celebrate the idiocy of the idiom "misery loves compnay", let's band together and create an amazing nurturing environment for our students to thrive in. Part of that environment should be healthy professional relationships being modeled. The facts are we have some really amazing people to work with and I, for one, am looking forward to it.
What I'm really looking forward to is sharing some of our ridiculous summer adventures...One way to do that is to bring me a picture, your most favorite picture of this summer. You didn't necessarily have to have taken it but you deinitely had to have been there, one way or another for the picture. Print it in an minimum 8" x 5" format. B&W, Color, Sepia it does not matter. I will mat it on black paper and display it tastefully in the staff work room. Think of it as you homework assignment: What I Did This Summer. A very brief description on an index card would be helpful if you want to give date and location. Photos will be returned. Come on! I know there are some amazing Alaska pictures out there, Europe?, New York? The down and dirty south? (oh if only this could be a food share...)
Bring them to me by the first Friday of school. After the "exhibition" closes, I will return them to you promptly.
Thanks! Barb
