Tuesday is the day AFTER Monday...

I knew it was going to be a bad day when I told half of one team they were testing today and and half of another team. OK, let's get creative, bag both teams double them up for another day and find all the stragglers that still need a first round. Nothing quite happened the way I wanted it to and nothing came out as expected and I was feeling exceptionally emotional today. There were students that didn't make benchmark and I was ready to burst into tears. Then a student I didn't expect hit benchmark and I was elated. His joy lifted my spirit immediately and although I try to remain impartial "as to not sacrifice the integrity of the test" I can't help but walk away like I've been on a roller coaster all day...

And then (after a quick workout) I...come...home...The backyard is heaven right now. Although the past few storms have ravaged what was left of the tulips, the lilacs (my favorites) are out in full, luscious, intoxicating glory. The backyard reaks of 'em. And I immediately slow down and fall in love with my home and my family and my life all over again. "Stop and smell the roses" is definitely "stop and smell the lilacs" for me...

I am also a big fan of my new mini Mint garden. Chocolate mint, spearmint, Mint Julep Mint, orange mint and some different type of spicy mint, yum yum yum. Mojitos in the making.

18 more days of school kids. Just 4 more weeks (with a Memorial Day mini-vaca tucked in for good measure.)
